Pre-Primary

READY, SET, GO!
Daily Programme:

Our Pre-Primary is from Grade 000 – Grade R.

The ages of the children are:
Gr 000 : 3 turning 4
Gr 00: 4 turning 5
Grade R: 5 turning 6

The pre-primary (Grade 000/00) offers weekly sessions where children can engage in puzzle and book activities, developmental play, and music lessons led by a professional music teacher. As they progress to Grade R, they continue with these activities and also have opportunities to explore robotics, participate in physical education (PE), and further enhance their musical skills. These activities are all part of the broader educational program provided by the primary school.

Facilities:

Our facilities are fantastic for nurturing children’s development in various areas.
Each of these areas offers unique opportunities for children to learn and grow in different ways, supporting their holistic development across physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains.

Creative Room

This space seems dedicated to activities that help children develop their fine motor skills, which are important for tasks like writing, drawing, and using small objects with precision. It’s likely filled with art supplies, manipulatives, and other materials that encourage hands-on creativity.

Fringe Area

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, this area offers sensory experiences through different textures and materials. Children have the opportunity to explore their senses through touch, sight, sound, and sometimes even smell and taste, fostering their cognitive and sensory development.

Fantasy Area

Here, children have the chance to engage in imaginative play, where they can role-play real-life situations from home. This type of play helps them understand and navigate social interactions, emotions, and daily routines in a safe and supportive environment.

Top Garden

This outdoor area seems designed to promote gross motor skills development, providing ample space for children to run, jump, climb, and play on various apparatus. Activities here likely encourage physical activity and coordination while allowing children to expend energy and build strength.

Uniforms:

Our students wear a distinctive yellow Penzance Pre-primary t-shirt paired with Penzance Pre-primary black school shorts. During colder weather and winter months, they may wear the Penzance Pre-primary tracksuit ensemble, complete with a tracksuit top and pants. These can be purchased at our School Clothing Shop.

Aftercare:

Our preschool aftercare facility provides a nurturing and engaging environment for young children after their regular school day begins. Our dedicated staff members offer a wide range of activities designed to promote creativity, socialization and skill development. From arts and crafts to outdoor play, children have the opportunity to explore, learn and have fun in a safe and supported setting. With a focus on individual attention and positive reinforcement, we strive to make after school hours the time of growth and enjoyment for every child in our care.

Times for aftercare:

12:15-15:00 (half day)
12:15 – 17:00 (full day)
